It's our one year birthday!
A1R started August 6, 2008 as an "off shoot" of the popular Live 365 radio station, "The Mix Rock." Up until then, our talk shows were aired in between the hard rock records the station played. It was obvious that the shows needed a home of their own. The new station was created and launched as "The Mix Talk." Back then, both stations were owned by the Mix Radio Network, operated by Keith Mitchell & Georgiann Kiricopolis. Dave Solomon, a successful radio station owner, was brought in to serve as the Mix Talk ID and commercial voice & network programming consultant. Dave also designed the websites for both stations. Michelle Caporale, who is also the first host ever to broadcast on the Mix Rock, served as "company intuitive", offering her guidance, help and support along the way. She also called on her industry contacts to bring fanastic guests, hosts and listeners to the new station. The stage was set.
Within a month, Georgiann left the company and both stations became solely owned by K Mitchell Company, LLC.
In November, Keith merged his stations with Dave's two stations, Surfside 1640 & iCountry 1700. Keith served as CEO & Dave became President of The Mix Radio Network.
The next few months consisted of amazing growth. Keith & Dave, both refusing to take a paycheck and investing all of the income into the station, were able to redesign two studios, employ some phenomenal radio producers & web technicians and improve the station tremendously. The station was quickly added to iTunes- now enabling it to be heard by a very vast audience- 10-20 times the amount we had before. By May, the station relaunched as "A1R - The Ask 1 Radio Network." Now less of an "off shoot" and more it's own identity, another ten-fold increase in listenership occurred.
In June, Keith left the company to pursue ownership in a new bandwidth company. As part of Dave's network purchase, Keith also retained his ownership in The Mix Rock.
Today, hundreeds of thousands of listening hours are enjoyed by our massive audience each month. No other lifestyle, healing & wellness radio station has as large, diverse and loyal audience as A1R.
This is all possible due to our fantastic, unique and expert hosts and our dedicated, upscale, loyal listening audience. We have seen the listening stats of every other psychic, lifestyle and wellness radio station on the web. There isn't a station on the entire internet with the amount of listeners, the time spent listening and loyalty we are experiencing. We are very grateful.
Thank you for your connection to us- as a host, listener or a radio producer. Still determined not to take a paycheck, we are still investing heavily in our growth. You are why we do that. Count on us to never stop improving what is already a wonderful radio station. We could not have done it without each of you.
